Chicago’s timeless and alluring Gold Coast is also a mecca for high- end cuisine. Adalina, led by Michelin-star chef Soo Ahn, is a refined and elegant dining experience serving a modern and engaging Italian menu. Adalina’s first floor includes outdoor seating and a bar, while the second floor houses the main dining room.

One of Chicago’s newest restaurants, Rose Mary is also located in the vibrant Fulton Market neighborhood. “Top Chef” winner Joe Flamm pairs his mastery of Italian cuisine with bold and bright Croatian influences, resulting in exquisite Mediterranean fare. Guests can savor homemade pastas that are prepared a variety of ways. Heartier dishes feature tuna crudo, branzino, duck, lamb, and pork ribs pampanella, all prepared with Flamm’s distinct Adriatic flare. An extensive wine list offers selections from around the world.

The rooftop patio at Aba makes this dining venue a perennial summertime favorite. Also a nod to the reimagined Mediterranean cuisine that’s currently on trend throughout the city, Aba incorporates chef CJ Jacobson’s lighter style of cooking. Signature dishes include crispy short rib hummus, whipped feta, char-grilled lamb chops, and skirt steak, all served small plates style. While enjoying views of the Chicago skyline, guests can sip signature craft cocktails prepared with herb-infused spirits and fresh juices. Located in Western Springs, Vie is the flagship restaurant of chef Paul Virant and is a testament to his background of cooking seasonally, sourcing locally, and utilizing traditional methods of preservation to create a unique experience. The ever-changing prix fixe menu offers local flavors and ingredients with perfectly paired wines. At Vie, everything is made in-house, from the fresh breads to the charcuterie, pickles, and preserves. Fulton Market District is also home to Momotaro, which takes a modern approach to Japanese food. Chef Gene Kato, nominated for a James Beard Award, has dedicated his career to elevating Japanese cuisine while remaining authentic to tradition. The seasonal menu offers a daily chef’s selection of sushi, along with several cuts of beef, seafood, and vegetables all prepared with a chef’s selection of marinades and seasonings. Traditional favorites like edamame, miso soup, and seaweed salad are paired with offerings such as chicken liver pate and chili tofu for a flavor combination that will pique any palate.

Chef Michael Lachowicz is the mastermind behind Aboyer, the contemporary American-French brasserie located in Winnetka on Chicago’s North Shore. Aboyer offers a modern vibe in a quaint setting. The menu features Lachowicz’s classic method and technique for refined French cooking and includes everything from foie gras to artisan cheeses and sauteed beef tenderloin. An array of craft cocktails and extensive wine list are also available, as well as weekly specials that includes Coq au Vin Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday evenings.
